Beyond private lessons, I also specialize in trauma sensitivity yoga. I understand that past experiences and traumas can have a significant impact on one's mental and physical health, which is why I've trained with TCY and TCTSY to develop a yoga program specifically tailored to address these challenges. The trauma sensitivity yoga lessons aim to create a safe and inclusive space for all, with practices that emphasize body awareness, self-regulation, and mindfulness. Frequently asked questions

Is this therapy?

Nope! Coaching is different from therapy in that a coach cannot diagnose or treat mental illnesses. Trauma-informed coaching uses information from trauma psychology to inform the process of setting goals and moving forward towards the future, but does not set out to directly process or resolve the trauma. Coaching views the client as already whole and capable of achieving their goals, with nothing fundamentally wrong with them.

As a coach I empower our clients to activate their own potential that is already within them, but may not be able to be accessed without the support and care that a coach can provide. If you are not at a place where you’re generally able to function day-to-day, or have been depressed for a long time and are feeling hopeless, therapy is a better fit for you.

If you are generally stable but struggling to meet your goals, have the relationships you desire, or feel really good about your life, coaching could be the container that helps you get to where you want to be.

What kinds of questions do your clients typically come to you for?

Each body is different and my clients come from all walks of life. Some of their desired improvements include improving their flexibility, strength, and balance, managing stress and anxiety, dealing with chronic pain or injuries, and seeking a personalized yoga practice that can be tailored to their specific needs and goals.

Some clients also seek private yoga sessions to deepen their understanding of the practice or to address specific issues related to their overall health and well-being.

How long do you work with clients?

I typically work with clients for anywhere from 3-6 months, and sometimes longer! We usually start by meeting each week or every other week, and then over time some clients choose to move to once a month, or on an as-needed basis. 

Where can I enjoy these sessions?

To be able to do yoga we need a space to be quiet and move around. Our private yoga sessions can be enjoyed in a variety of settings. You can choose to practice in the peaceful and serene environment of our private yoga studio, or if you prefer, we can come to your home or office and create a yoga space tailored to your needs.
